Self memory

No escape from reality any more, to find shelter into the inner world of private emotions.
Awakening moments: I did not run away from the reality, but I watched with different eyes, being aware of the precious secret that was revealed, and aware of me and my emotions too, as if looking outside me, I finally could remember me, remember of being alive.

mind and thoughts

Mind and thoughts

Are we what we think? Or our thoughts are just another illusion, confonding and moving us away from true awareness.
The white horse running among the trees is our mind flying from a vanity to another, without living the present, thus departing ever more from the light of awakening... Our mind is divided into thousands of interests, which reveal themselves short-lived like the leaves of the trees, and our will keeps wandering away from the simple joy of the present, which is already the divine we seek, the sun behind the horse.

Year: July 2010
Measures: 100cm x 100cm.
Colours: acrylics and pigments, oil and gold leaf for the horse's eye.
Price: 800 euro

the peacock and the sun

The peacock and the sun

Early morning, dawn: the snow still covering the ground, but the light is the spring one, it shines with the sky colours and the low sun above the horizon throws the shadow of a still bare tree jet alive, its mossy trunk foreboding the coming life.
In the foreground there is a peacock.
We just live unaware of the surrounding light, barely aware of the shadows crossing our steps, chasing the small thousands suns of the peacock's spreading tail, false illusions, vain chimeras.

Year: March 2010
Measures: 100cm x 60cm.
Colours: acrylics and pigments, oil, half precious stones and gold leaf.

Awakening

Awakening and illumination

The mad horse is our mind, running from a thought to another, chasing false illusions. If we can subdue it, we can wake up, like the green tree, which refuses the snow covering the sleeping forest, but keeps living aware and embraces the consciousness sun...

Year: February 2010
Measures: 80cm x 60cm.
Colours: acrylics and pigments, oil for details.

The sun inside

The sun inside

The persimmon tree ad the white stag: this idea started running into my mind a long time ago. One morning, while I was going to work, I saw a persimmon tree with its fruits just like small suns, and the autumn sun so pale and exhaust, veiled by a milky fog. The persimmon fruits looked like they were shining much more than the sun itself.

We should try and feel "the sun inside" even when outside we live in grey: the same energy, the same hope we feel in spring time, when the sun is finally warm and bright, we should feel anyway inside our heart in winter time, when days are cold and grey, and always when we feel depressed, sad, discouraged.

The white stag is the hope that comes when we bring the sun into our heart, even when world outside seems faded, brightless, colourless and helpless.

Year: January 2010
Measures: 73cm x 50cm.
Colours: acrylics and pigments, oil for details.
Price: 400 euro

source

The unexpected source

An african sunset: the spring water seems an unexpected mirage among the waiste land burnt by the sun. A dream comes true in the heat of the ground: the elephant changes into a tree.
Sometimes it happens that we find what we seek, so we can finally transform our pain and sorrow into something else, something better.

Year: July 2008
Measures: 124cm x 72cm.
Colours: acrylics, pigments, and gold leaf, oil for details.
