The fresco

This first fresco deals with the reason and instinct theme as they are the bearing pillars of a man's life. Under the left arch the plants and the animals organization is more rational and neat, while under the right arch ther is more chaos and passion. The arch frieze inspired the branch of the tree with the movement.

The Lion (fire)

The lion on the ground under the right arch is red dressed as a king. The red flower is the lion's soul: wild, proud, passionate...

The mane is painted with raw sienna and gold leaf. The lion's eyes are enriched with gold leaf al well, so they look like jewels.

The fish (water)

The fish are playing with a sphere plunged into the water. The sphere may be interpreted as the sun reflection or the moon, sun and moon separeted by the two elements air and water.

The humming bird (air)

The humming bird completes the description of the four elements (fire, water, air and land) and it's essential for balancing the presence of the red flower and the lion.

The white flower and the blue flowers (land)

The magnolia flower inspired the big white flower, while the dandelions inspired the spherical ones.
The blue flowers are created by my imagination.
